The PC-12 (Low differentiation) cell line is derived from a transplantable adrenal pheochromocytoma of male rats. PC-12 (Low differentiation) cells express nerve growth factor (NGF) receptors, and NGF can induce the development of a neuronal phenotype. These cells do not synthesize adrenaline.
