The DC2.4 cell line is an immortalized mouse bone marrow-derived dendritic cell line. It was generated by transducing bone marrow isolates from C57BL/6 mice with a retroviral vector expressing murine granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) along with the myc and raf oncogenes. DC2.4 exhibits characteristics of dendritic cells, including typical cell morphology, expression of dendritic cell-specific markers, as well as the ability to phagocytose and present exogenous antigens on MHC class I and II molecules. The DC2.4 cell line is widely used in immunological research, particularly in studies related to dendritic cell (DC) biology, immune responses, and T cell activation.
