This immortalized cell line is derived from the cerebellar tissue of 8-day-old mice and was established by B. Pessac and D. Trisler. The cells exhibit characteristics of microglia. They are GFAP-positive, but no other molecular markers of glial or neuronal cells, including microglia, have been detected.
