Animals were immunized with human T lymphocytes activated by phorbol myristate acetate (PMA). Splenocytes were fused with gp2/0-Ag14 myeloma cells. The antibody reacted with the human T cell surface protein Tp50 (CD2). The antibody inhibited T cell proliferative responses and cytotoxic responses, but did not inhibit antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity.
