The Hs 578T cell line originates from breast cancer. It shares the same patient origin as the normal fibroblast-like cell line Hs 578Bst. Initially, the Hs 578T cells exhibited a polygonal morphology; however, during subculturing, star-shaped cell morphology was selected and cloned. Under electron microscopy, aggregates of casein granules, desmosomes, tight junctions, lipid bodies, and smooth endoplasmic reticulum vesicles were observed. Like Hs 578Bst, no estrogen receptors or endogenous viruses were detected.
Cell Name: Human breast ductal carcinoma cell line
