This cell line originates from a 3-year-old Caucasian patient with Burkitt's lymphoma; it is EBV-negative; expresses the IL-4 receptor and the low-affinity IgE receptor (CD23); there are approximately 1,500 IL-4 binding sites on the surface of each cell; it secretes IgM (lambda L); and expresses both membrane-bound and secreted forms of immunoglobulin.
