The T-47 cell line was isolated by Keydar I et al. from the pleural effusion of a 54-year-old female patient with invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast. This cell line is a differentiated epithelial subline of the T-47 cells. It has been reported to possess cytoplasmic junctions and receptors for 17β-estradiol and other steroid hormones, as well as for calcitonin. The cells are capable of forming colonies in agarose and express the WNT7B oncogene.
