The GBC-SD cell line was established in 2000 by Wang Zhanming et al. from a 61-year-old male patient with poorly differentiated gallbladder cancer. The cells exhibit various shapes, including polygonal, spindle, and square forms. They secrete CEA and CA19-9. The doubling time is approximately 21.4 hours. The cells are transplantable into nude mice, and the resulting tumors are similar to the primary tumor. This cell line has tested negative for mycoplasma in our repository. It has also been authenticated by STR profiling in our repository.
