The cells were derived from a primary clear cell adenocarcinoma of a 63-year-old Caucasian woman. The cells are spherical but have indistinct boundaries, exhibit a high nuclear-to-cytoplasmic ratio, and display microvilli and desmosomes. These cells can grow in soft agar.
